Nicholasss :) I do invest in funds. In fact, more than 50% of my investments are in funds. Low-cost global index funds – see How Foxy Monkey invests post. What about you?

Thanks,

I know a lot of people who put huge $$$ in the market and then panic during a stock crash and undersell it just because they are insecure. The long-term benefits are evasive to them, unfortunately.

Charlie forever Miss FF! I’ve favoured stock investments over property in the past few years but I’m slowly changing it and adding property to my portfolio. I just like the “illiquidity premium” which I consider a good thing.

Hopefully, Brexit won’t drop the exchange rate even further. Otherwise, we will be paying more to buy global stocks :/

Until now all of my money has been building in cash towards a property purchase but (hopefully) that should complete soon and I’m faced with the choice of either ploughing my money into the stock market or saving for a loft extension. I was leaning towards the latter, but with the markets looking a bit bumpy and the Brexit doom and gloom I’ll be keeping an eye on things to see whether the loft can wait. I wouldn’t want to miss out on being a Charlie.

Well written and a good reminder of something that *should* be second nature.

Thanks,

Andy.
