I would also recommend “12 rules for life” by Jonathan Peterson. It touches a lot of similar topics (pursue of happiness, values in life, etc)

What my values are? That’s a good and deep question, thanks Nicholas.

I like to pursue happiness but the journey is what makes it or breaks it in my opinion. So on that journey, feeling valued and appreciated, have self-respect, self-awareness, helping others are traits that motivate me. Thinking in retrospect, the creation of this blog helps to tick them from time to time.

I think Mark Mason’s book is a great one. Before reading it I wanted to build a thicker skin. In theory, it should work but it didn’t. I can’t say I changed. However, it helped me think differently in the sense that you only live once and you should stop worrying about little things in life. Let me know how you find it!

so may I ask you what you consider your values to be Michael? It’s a book I’ve had for a while but haven’t got around to reading, I do love Mark Manson’s writing so think I’d like it.

Does he delve much into self-awareness? I liked his writings on his blog around that and wonder if you feel you’ve done much to increase yours? If so, what did you find most helpful?
