Well, the higher the income the more sense it makes to shelter some in a SIPP :)

It’s only CEOs and millionaires who can normally do that. Surprised you have anything left over to invest anywhere else!

Hey Martin! Property equity is when having ownership of a property. But I also invest in development loans (debt).

My bond part does not include any inflation-linked bonds. I couldn’t find a good way of owning them without taking a long duration risk here in the UK. If you have any suggestions let me know!

Thanks for the reply Michael!

I did sign up for Crowdcube and express my interest in Freetrade, so hopefully they match me with someone :))

In your bond allocation part, do you hold any inflation linked bonds?

And what exactly do you mean by Property equity and Property debt?

Hey James, nice to hear from you. My favourite investment platform for limited companies is Interactive Brokers. Vanguard offers an account too but it’s the old-fashioned way. You need to call them up and prepare a bit of paperwork.

Which is your favourite investment platform to use for limited
Company investing? I already have a personal account with HL so was thinking maybe they’d be most suited. Vanguard doesn’t seem to offer business accounts online for those in the UK.

That’s a really good return for a BTL, Patrick. Nice! Let me guess, up in the north?

@Martin My bond allocation is ~7%, blended in the ‘Securities’ category. My target bond allocation is 10% which used to be the case but the rising equities have drifted it and I’ve not rebalanced yet.

I did take part in the FreeTrade EIS scheme so if I realise the gains they should be tax-free.
I’m a Freetrade customer so can’t really remember if I’m automatically subscribed to their newsletter or something. In any case, the new rounds will surely be announced on their email list: https://freetrade.io/get-emails

If you plan to invest in a crowdfunding round, sign up to CrowdCube beforehand. Don’t wait up until the last minute because the account opening might not be instant and you might miss out.

I have a side consultancy for last 2 years that now has £150k in bank. I am looking at putting half into a HMO buy to let, interest only mortgage with expected return of 10% (plus average 2% increase in house value). Then i plan on putting the rest into a corporate eToro account picking a few of the more established traders to copy with a mix of risk profiles and markets averaging 15% return. All through separate ltd companies.
